I grew up in the Church in Wales where as a teenager most of my effort around church was put into tower bell ringing. My professional life was largely devoted to delivering equality, diversity and inclusion in universities. After leaving institutional life in 2010 I ran my own consultancy for seven years, and then moved my EDI commitment to church and church institutions. A former churchwarden I am a member of my deanery synod, Ely Diocesan Synod and recently elected to General Synod on the Inclusive Synod slate. These days I still ring bells but much less frequently. I have a lifelong hearing impairment. Recently I became a granny for the second time, when my granddaughter was born to my daughter and daughter-in-law. Like many people I live a life where an inclusive church resonates closely with my personal and family life. I am a trustee of WATCH.
