As a Church

Individual churches (or whole parishes/groups) are invited to consider joining the Inclusive Church network.
This is a simple process and the decision to join must be taken by the local trustees of your church (for instance, in the Church of England, the PCC). We encourage churches joining the network to give an annual donation on a sliding scale – we recommend the trustees decide on the donation amount the church can make, between £5 and £500+, before they apply. Setting up a regular donation eg. monthly, would also be an option. (And might in fact be better for everyone!)
Please read this ‘how and why’ guide for churches considering registering with Inclusive Church.
Once your church has discussed and decided to join the Inclusive Church Network you will submit an application form for the trustees, who meet every other month, to consider. Following verification checks the board receive the list of pending member churches. The board then meet, discuss and decide for each, when applications are approved, new member churches are then added to our online directory https://www.inclusive-church.org/church-directory/ and informed of their membership status.
The directory page is a publicly available profile for people who are looking for an Inclusive Church near them, members are encouraged to keep it up-to-date and populate with information that those looking may value knowing.
To apply on behalf of a church, either as a new member or to renew your membership, please fill out the church application form below. Please note, a separate application will need to be completed per church so we can generate profile pages for each one. However, financial giving can be done collectively.
We encourage member churches to regularly review and audit their practices and how accessible and inclusive they are, to celebrate progress and identify areas for improvement. From 2025 this encouragement is moving from a passive suggestion to a more proactive one. We are introducing a renewal process for existing IC churches to confirm their continued inclusive ethos. The intention will be to do this every 3-5 years.
Signed up inclusive churches are also encouraged to run an Inclusive Church Sunday service at least once a year, on a Sunday of your choosing – see more here.
To help clarify the relationship and expectations between member churches and Inclusive Church centrally, in 2025 we are introducing a ‘Relationship Agreement’. Churches who join us will receive their own copy of this once admitted, but an example is available to view here. If you’ve any questions or want to clarify something further, please get in touch with us!
As an Individual
The link form below is for individuals wishing to join the Inclusive Church Network.
If you support Inclusive Church’s vision statement and wish to become a member, please complete the form. Individual membership is open to all who affirm our vision statement, regardless of church standing, attendance, denomination or financial resource.
There is currently no membership fee to join, but we do encourage and value the donations members are able to make. If you are a taxpayer, please let us know so we can add GiftAid to your giving.
All individual members are eligible to vote at AGMs and influence the direction IC takes. Members can also apply to join the board of trustees; our trustees are usually appointed for 2-3 years so there is both time for some continuity and familiarity to develop, but also regular opportunity to reenergise and refocus.

You should receive a confirmation email once you have submitted the form. Please click on the link in the email if you want to subscribe to the newsletter. You can also subscribe to the newsletter on the newsletters page. Members are also invited to contribute to our monthly newsletter to share their experiences, challenges and achievements on the journey.
Inclusive Church depends on giving by individuals and churches to fund its work. Details about regular giving (standing order and gift aid) are available on our donations page.
