Churches Joining IC
Individual churches (or whole parishes/groups) are invited to consider joining the Inclusive Church network. This is a simple process and the decision to join must be taken by the local trustees of your church (for instance, in the Church of England, the PCC). We encourage churches joining the network to give an annual donation on a sliding scale – we recommend the trustees decide on the donation amount the church can make, between £50 and £500+, before they apply.
Once your church has discussed and decided to join the Inclusive Church Network you will submit an application form for the trustees, who meet every other month, to consider. Our member churches will then be added to our online directory https://www.inclusive-church.org/church-directory/ which you will be encouraged to keep up to date and populate with information that those looking for a local inclusive church may value knowing.
Please read this guide for churches considering registering with Inclusive Church. Once your trustees have taken the decision together to join IC, please get in touch with our office. Signed up inclusive churches are encouraged to run a service for Inclusive Church Sunday at least once a year on a Sunday of your choosing – see more here.
We encourage member churches to regularly review and audit their practices and how accessible and inclusive they are, to celebrate progress and identify areas for improvement. From 2025 we are introducing a renewal process where we will contact exisiting churches in the network confirm their continued inclusive ethos every 3-5 years.
Individuals Joining IC
The below form is for individuals, not churches. If you support Inclusive Church’s vision statement and wish to become a member, please complete the form. There is currently no membership fee to join, but we do encourage and value the donations members are able to make. If you are a taxpayer, please let us know so we can add GiftAid to your giving. Individual membership is open to all who affirm our vision statement, regardless of church standing, attendance, denomination or financial resource.
All members are eligible to vote at AGMs and influence the direction IC takes. Members can also apply to join the board of trustees, our trustees are usually appointed for 2-3 years so there is both time for some continuity and familiarity to develop, but also regular opportunity to reenergise and refocus.
You will receive a confirmation email once you have submitted the form. Please click on the link in the email if you want to subscribe to the newsletter. You can also subscribe to the newsletter on the newsletters page. Members are also invited to contribute to our monthly newsletter to share their experiences, challenges and achievements on the journey.
Inclusive Church depends on giving by individuals and churches to fund its work. Details about regular giving (standing order and gift aid) are available on our donations page.
